TikTok 🤝 Linktree for creator experiences | Going Solo

gm, world!

Whenever I ask myself if anyone enjoys long-form content, I am reminded of Julian Shapiro’s  words: “People don’t have a short attention span; they have short consideration spans and must be hooked quickly. Don’t fear making great, in-depth content. But ensure your first minute is incredible.”

How true is that?

We sit down to binge-watch shows or read books in one go. We’re attracted to good storytelling, whether it’s long or short. What do you folks think?

Do you consume long-form content if it's got great storytelling?

Naval Ravikant on Failing in Public

It takes a lot to build, create, or fail in public. But guess what? Those who face the fear of putting themselves out there in public really go a long way. Something that Naval Ravikanth said about this stuck with us. đź‘‡

Have You Checked out Ashish Vidyarthi on YouTube?

Indian actor Ashish Vidyarthi isn’t an unknown name, but have you checked out his content on YouTube or social media? Stars have started using social media not only to connect with their fans and followers but to stay relevant. If you aren’t on social, are you even social?

In our Creator Deep Dive episode, watch us discuss Ashish Vidyarthi as a creator on YouTube and what we think about others in this space! đź‘‡

TikTok Joins Hands with Linktree

TikTok and Linktree have partnered to drive more traffic to creator profiles. What this means is that Linktree is developing a TikTok Profile Kit to offer an enhanced experience to TikTok creators. âś¨

In an official announcement on its blog, Linktree said, “We see more than five million TikTok views from Linktree profiles every day. Profile Kit is part of the TikTok for Developers  Program, which includes other tools such as the popular SDK Login Kit which enables users to securely sign into third-party platforms through their TikTok login credentials and share videos from their profiles.”

As this feature gives creators more control, they can decide how to communicate with their community, too. For instance, followers and the community can watch a creator’s TikTok videos on Linktree itself. Looks like the whole idea is to get people to spend more time on both platforms — plus, the convenience!

Collectors Warm Up to Obscure Presentation Watches

There is a reason why we all love the internet! It’s full of the most unassuming but interesting stories.

Just like this one. 👇

Have you ever seen a Rolex watch with a Domino’s Pizza logo on its dial? Yup, that exists. This Financial Times featuretalks about it. It says, “Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan tells in his 1986 autobiography Pizza Tiger how he first started giving watches to franchisees who met their sales targets in 1977 — beginning with the Bulova from his own wrist. Over the next few years, the US businessman gave “several Seikos”, and then “hundreds” of Rolexes. Dukcevich’s 1986 Rolex, which has the original owner’s initials engraved on the case back, came with a note from Monaghan that said the watch was “a symbol of prestige” earned for reaching $20,000 weekly sales.”

So what happened to those watches and how are they valued today? Check out this feature. đź‘€
